  • The event is open to anyone with physical or cognitive special needs, ages 14 and older. We do not have specific guidelines for the eligibility of guests in relation to the legitimacy or severity of their disabilities. We trust the guests and their family member/caregiver as to what qualifies as a special need.

  • Ages 14 years old and up, there is no maximum age.

  • 2 people maximum - 1 buddy who must stay with the guest for the entirety of the event & 1 family member/caregiver who will be allowed to use the Respite Room as well as visit the guest throughout the event.

  • In order to stay within building capacity, we have to keep it at 2 people. We want to keep the prom open to as many guests as possible and not overcrowd the prom with family members observing the guest. We understand some guests require a lot of support but we feel 2 support people are sufficient for each guest.

  • Every guest attending Night To Shine is required to have a buddy. A buddy is a companion who will stay by the guest’s side throughout the entire evening to help make sure they have the most enjoyable and comfortable night possible. We can provide the guest with a buddy or they can choose to provide their own buddy (friend, relative, caretaker, or parent).
