A Love the City Project can be a one-time opportunity or an ongoing way to bless a neighbor or bring hope to a community. Our commitment is to equip and empower you with resources, support, and prayer.
Your commitment is to look for open doors to serve and love your neighbors and take the next step when you find one.
Resources may include:
Financial grants up to $500
Volunteers, skills, and peole to help
Mentorship and project coaching
Facilities and meeting spaces
Supplies and equipment
Connections with local organizations and community partners
Promotion and communication

What Makes a Love the City Project?
Your project should:
Bless a neighbor or community outside of Salem Alliance Church. Projects should serve someone who is not a family member or a Salem Alliance attendee.
Be led by someone who considers Salem Alliance their home church.
Love the City Projects are not intended to:
Fund an individual’s salary
Fund an organization’s general operating expenses or ongoing programs.
Not sure where to start?
Together, we might ask:
Who has God placed around you or on your heart to bless?
What needs do you see in the places and spaces God has already called you to?
Where do you see an opportunity to bring peace, presence, or practical help?
What could it look like to simply show up and love your neighbor well?
What gifts, passions, or relationships has God already given you that could be used to bless others?
You bring the curiosity and together we’ll explore who God might be inviting you to move towards!
You don’t have to have a fully formed idea. We’d love to sit down with you, listen, pray, and brainstorm together. Sometimes the best place to start is simply by noticing the people and needs God has already placed around you.

If you know of someone who calls Salem Alliance Church home and needs extra resources or support, reach out to Pastor Peter Vincent. Peter leads our Benevolent Committee which is designed to provide wrap-around services for our SAC family members.
Project Examples
Helping a neighbor whose home is in disrepair.
Offering support to a sick co-worker.
Hosting an event for someone with little family connections.
Asking the unsheltered neighbors in your area what immediate needs they have and stepping in.
Showing appreciation to the workers at a local facility, school, non-profit.
Contributing to an unexpected bill.
Starting a community garden.
Teaching a class on basic skills (cooking, driving, sewing, auto).
Hosting an oil change day.
Neighborhood block party or gathering.
Offering rides to the elderly.
