Conversation #4: Sex Is Complicated

Maybe it's not the sex life you dreamed of. Mismatched desire, awkward initiations, the sting of “not tonight,” tired seasons, old wounds.  Most of us thought sex would come easily if we did things right. But that's often not the case.

The good news? You're not alone. These are some of the most common struggles couples face, and they don't necessarily mean something is wrong.  In fact, they're supposed to happen. What we do when we find ourselves there makes all the difference. Part of us wants to give up. The best of us needs to step up, because only those who grow up can truly experience sex as God intended.

While this conversation will be especially relevant for those who are married, preparing for marriage, or hoping to marry someday, everyone is encouraged to join the conversation. There's plenty to learn whether or not you're currently sexually active.
