May 30–June 5
This Week's Word: PRUNE
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.”
John 15:1-2, 5
God I want to know you.
Will you reveal yourself more deeply to me?
Start your day with this meditation:
You are the vine. I am a branch. I remain in you.
Ask God – how are you using this season to prune me so that the fruit of your Spirit might grow more abundantly in me?
Jesus, I want others to know you.
Will you shine through me so those around me are drawn to you?
In the middle of your day, take a short pause from your normal activities.
Ask God - In a season where it feels like we’re being “cut back”, how might you be using these difficulties to produce love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in us?
Jesus, I have personal longings and concerns.
Will you hear my heart and respond to my requests?
Towards the end of your day, take a short pause to be quiet in God’s Presence. As you bring each of your longings, concerns, and requests to Him, breathe in and out this prayer – “Jesus, I remain in you.”
