Pastoral Care

Every person experiences difficulties in life.  Jesus even told us we would. (John 16:33).
However, He also said we could experience peace during tough times through His overcoming power. The Pastoral Care ministry seeks to reach out and engage with people who are experiencing the pains and trials of life. We want to help each person know the great love, power, and comfort of our God.

How We Can Help

Hospital Visitation
Our Mercy Team visits Salem Alliance attendees who are hospitalized in the Salem-Keizer area. Volunteers make a visit when the church is notified of admittance.

Shut-in Visitation
Our Homebound Team visits Salem Alliance attendees who are no longer able to attend weekend services. Volunteers are connected to specific individuals to befriend and encourage them.

Funerals
The staff seeks to assist families in planning meaningful services that honor Christ and the deceased. Contact the funeral coordinator, Annie Dudley (adudley@salemalliance.org)

Grief & Loss Support Group
A grief and loss support group exists to assist the healing process of those who are grieving. The group meets weekly on Tuesday nights during September through April, and monthly May through August. People may visit and join the group at any time.

Crisis Intervention
The Pastoral Staff seeks to provide support and assistance to Salem Alliance attendees who are experiencing some sort of crisis or extreme need.

Prayer Support

  • After service Prayer Team - prays with anyone who requests prayer after a weekend service
  • Church Prayer Team - prays for prayer requests that are submitted throughout the week
  • Upper Room Team  - the Hosts pray with guests, for submitted prayer requests and look after operation of the Upper Room
  • Worship Center Team - prays in the Worship Center during the week on designated days and times
  • The Church Staff seeks to be available to pray with people who come in during the week

Healing
Anyone desiring prayer for healing may request Elders to meet with them to pray for healing.

Financial Help
The Benevolent Fund is available to assist church members after a screening process. Guidelines are established that determine distribution.

Employment Network
The Network seeks to reach out to people in employment transition, helping prepare them to find new employment and spiritual hope and health in Christ during this journey.

Transition and Transformation (T&T)
This ministry matches a mentor with a man or woman who has a history of incarceration and/or addiction issues, helping them to experience hope and health in Christ.

Hope Connection
A support group exists for people who love and care about family members with a mental illness

Affirming Business
This is a gathering of business leaders who are interested in more than just simply economic relationships.  They want to pursue a significant impact for the Kingdom of God among their peers, investors, employees, customers, vendors and suppliers.
