LifeBuilders! September is here, school is starting and sports and kids activities have already filled up the calendars. This past Saturday after the 5:00 service, we saw many of you sharing, talking and connecting. We had someone ask us if our Shepherding group had begun a week early…..no, we answered, but this group never stopped connecting in the month of August! In fact we saw at least half of you at Costco on Sunday! It always blesses us to see you all sharing life.
This upcoming Saturday (September 12) at 4:00 pm is the official kick off for LifeBuilders. We will have pizza and family time from 4 to 5 PM and then kick off our shepherding group at 5:00 in the ABC building. It is this upcoming weekend that the entire church goes back to shepherding groups, two services on Saturday and body life in full swing. There are several things we want to share:
1) First we are going to focus this year on how we as ordinary people can do extra ordinary things for an extraordinary God.
2) Next we want to continue our focus on growing in Him and for His people. To that extent we will offer a variety of ways to assist busy parents so they can “lean” into His calling and presence. There will be:
- a Bible study for women starting in October;
- an accountability group for women also starting in October;
- a women’s once a month sharing and connecting-WHEAT;
- MEAT for men the first Saturday morning of the month – (this upcoming Saturday at 7:00 AM;)
- continuing men’s “submission” groups and
- a discipleship group starting for men called Hi-Quest.
We pray that one or several of these options can encourage you in your journey with our Lord.
3) Our fostering of healthy relationships is also going to continue and the first thing you will get on Saturday at kick off is more information on the couples retreat November 13-15. The theme is “Fireproofing your marriage: Never Leave your partner behind.” We pray that many of you can make this happen.
4) We have also planned pizza and family times before some of our shepherding group time and the first one is this Saturday at 4:00 in our ABC meeting place. Please give Connie a call – 503-910-7685 if you plan to come by Thursday September 10.
5) A huge thank you to all who worked at the Burrito Booth. We have $2,200 to spend on activities for Lifebuilders. Another $2200 to use for outreach, missions and scholarships and we have put $2000 aside as the seed money for next years Burrito Booth. What a blessing this has been!

8) As you can see there are many opportunities to connect. Many of you can only do one or two. Some of you are involved with many of the above. Our prayer is that thru sharing life we can grow, connect, care, laugh and cry together. As you might remember the focus of LifeBuilders is:
1. Growing in friendship and relationships within a Christian community,
2. Growing in maturity in the Lord,
3. Growing in our marriages and parenting roles,
4. Growing through “fellowship” event opportunities, and
5. Growing through reaching outside of ourselves – in our local community and internationally.
