3,700 Volunteers are Needed to Take a Stand Against Hunger:

Women Ending Hunger, an auxiliary of Marion-Polk Food Share, intends to call the community’s attention to the fact that there are 37,000 children in Marion and Polk counties who may be going to school hungry this fall by lining up 3,700 volunteers holding empty plates from the State Capitol through downtown Salem as part of Go Downtown Salem’s FIRST WEDNESDAY activities on September 1. Local businesses, service organizations, church groups, and families are invited to take a stand against hunger from 5:00-5:20 p.m. Please call Kat Daniel, Marion-Polk Food Share, at 503-581-3855 ext. 322, or e-mail her at kdaniel@marionpolkfoodshare.org to reserve your place in line!

What is Community Impact?

Community Impact is the body of Christ coming together to match our hands, feet and words with the heart and intention of Christ to share His grace and truth with our community. Community Impact is what can happen when the Body of Christ determines to share time, talents and resources to benefit those in our city. Matthew 5:16 states that we are to let our light shine before all people, that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in Heaven! "Why" is Community Impact? For His glory!
