Philosophy of Ministry

OUR MISSION

We seek to partner with families to disciple their grade school children in a way that will, in God's timing, bring them to faith in Jesus as Savior, help them to follow God's ways and tell others about Him.

GRADE SCHOOL MINISTRY VALUES

BIBLE-CENTERED:

The Bible is God's Word and the true authority for teaching and life.

CHILD-FOCUSED:

The development of the whole child is considered in activities and teaching. The ministries will be relational, interactive, and fun!

FAMILY-ORIENTED:

Our programs assist and affirm the parent(s) in teaching God's truth to the child and, in God's time, bringing him/her into relationship with Him.

KEY RESULT AREAS

To accomplish our mission, we have set the following key result areas:

Community:

Provide an atmosphere and experiences where children will enjoy their uniqueness, sense of belonging and safety and develop friendships.

Leadership:

All ministry to children will be led by trained, supported and effective youth and adults.

Discipleship:

God's Word will be taught in developmentally appropriate ways as true and relevant to daily living.

Worship:

Build an atmosphere that provides opportunities for children to grow in expressing their love and praise for God, privately and in a group.

Prayer:

Provide teaching about prayer and help children learn to talk and listen to God, privately and in a group.

Ministry Involvement:

Provide an environment that encourages children to learn ways to give and to serve.

Outreach:

Teach and give opportunities for children to act upon a growing awareness of the lostness of people in their family, neighborhood, school and the world.

We believe that :

His Kids are "one-of-a-kind" creations of God. In Psalms 127 we read that children are a gift or a heritage given by God. The Gospel of Mark says they are a significant part of His kingdom. Jesus put His hands on them and blessed them. Each child is given traits, abilities, and experiences that are totally unique from anyone else. They come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at different times and in a variety of circumstances.

The Bible teaches us who God is and how we can come into relationship with Him. A child who has experienced a sense of trust and confidence in parents and other adults can enter more easily into a trusting relationship with God.

Bible-centered instruction, when combined with interaction with loving Christian adults, provides a strong foundation for moving on to other stages of faith development. Children learn much through observing significant adults in their daily walk with God.

The primary responsibility for teaching a child who God is, and how to come into a relationship with Him rests with the parent. Our goal and desire is to assist parents as they guide His Kids in the Way.
